The Practice Behind the Work.
Technology is expensive. Not getting the full use of it, or not getting any use of it at all, is more expensive still. The wasted months. The team that loses confidence in the organization’s ability to execute. The productivity that never comes back. The opportunity cost of everything else that didn’t get built while everyone was managing something that was failing.
Most people talk about this problem from the outside. I watched it from the inside, for 14 years, as a technology vendor.
In that time I saw decisions get made that I knew were wrong. The vendor selected because of a relationship, not a requirement. The scope that expanded because no one had the authority to say no. The go-live that happened on schedule while the organization quietly refused to change how it worked.
Sometimes clients let me say something. When they did, we saved the project. Sometimes they didn’t. My role was delivery, not advice. And I watched the investment erode anyway.
I understood the problem clearly: the people closest to the outcome were often the last ones in the room when the decisions were made. And the organizations that most needed independent judgment were the ones least likely to be getting it, because they were too small for a large firm and too complex for a generalist.
That is why Abantu exists. Not to sell technology. Not to implement someone else’s recommendation. To sit on the client’s side of the table, with the experience to know what good decisions look like, and the independence to say so.
The Practice
Abantu Tech Solutions Inc. is a boutique technology consulting practice incorporated in Canada and GST/HST registered. We work with mid-sized North American organizations, typically $20M to $500M in revenue and 50 to 500 people, navigating technology decisions, governance gaps, and complex delivery mandates.
“Abantu” is from the Akan language and means people. The name reflects a straightforward conviction: technology programs succeed or fail at the human layer. The system goes live. The organization doesn’t change. That gap, between deployment and outcome, between investment and result, is what this practice is built to close.
Abantu is a growing practice. Engagements are led by a senior practitioner accountable for the outcome. As mandates grow in complexity, specialist support is brought in under Abantu’s direction. The client relationship and accountability remain constant throughout.
Delali Tetteh
Delali is a technology consultant with over 20 years of experience across three distinct professional contexts. Each one shaped how Abantu approaches the work.
Technology Entrepreneurship: ITRUS Ltd., Ghana (2007-2021)
Delali founded ITRUS Ltd. in 2007 and built it into a technology services firm managing 26 OEM and distributor relationships across separate vendor channels: Cisco, Fortinet, Microsoft, VMware, Adobe, IBM, Grandstream, Acronis, Sophos, Bitdefender, ESET, Kaspersky, and others. Over 14 years, ITRUS delivered technology infrastructure, project work, and managed services across a complex, underserved market.
Running a technology firm, not consulting for one, is a different education. It builds a direct instinct for what decisions cost, how vendor relationships work from the inside, and what organizational pressure actually looks like when the invoice is yours. That instinct travels.
Enterprise Program Delivery: Regulated Financial Services
In Canada, Delali led IT programs at a major federally regulated financial institution, managing complex stakeholder environments at the Director and VP level. This is where structured delivery methodology, governance design, formal risk management, and executive reporting was applied at the scale and scrutiny enterprise programs demand.
The lessons from that environment, around accountability, honest scoping, and what it takes to maintain executive confidence throughout a long program, run through every Abantu engagement.
Change Management: Municipal Public Sector
At one of Canada’s largest municipal transit authorities, Delali built and led a change management function from the ground up, designing and executing the people-side of large-scale technology transformation in a public sector environment with significant union complexity and stakeholder breadth.
Building a function, rather than inheriting one, requires a different level of ownership. It is where the structured methodology meets real organizational resistance, and where the frameworks either hold or they don’t.

Who We Work With
Abantu works with mid-sized North American organizations, primarily in technology, financial services, transportation, professional services, and public sector contexts, that are facing technology decisions, governance gaps, or delivery mandates where experienced independent counsel is what’s actually needed.
Typical engagements are initiated by a CEO, COO, or VP Technology who has a real program underway and has hit the limits of what internal capacity can deliver.
If that describes where your organization is. Let’s talk.
Whether your organization is planning a significant technology initiative, navigating a governance gap, or working through a delivery challenge that needs experienced independent leadership, let’s talk.
